Energy costs
place a severe and continuing burden on low-income households.
In most instances the household is force to make decision regarding
which bills to pay and which necessities to live without. The
energy program assists income eligible households to pay a portion
of their winter energy costs, provides emergency assistance for
households whose utility services have been disconnected, and
provides emergency furnace repair and replacement
¨ Assists
target population by providing information and referral to other
available energy programs and/or social service programs.
¨ Provides
energy conservation, materials, counseling, and advocacy as needed.

¨ Applicants
must provide the agency with the following information:
1. Proof of
gross income for all household members for the 30 day
period prior to application date.
2. Copies of
current heat and electric bills
3. Proof of
Social Security numbers of all household members
4. DHS medical care if applicable
5. Proof of monthly rental amount if
utilities are included in this amount.
