Energy Audit

¨ Western Egyptian uses Federal and State funding sources such as HUD, Rural Development, and the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity to achieve the goal of helping low income people in the service area. The area includes Jackson, Monroe, Perry, and Randolph County.

¨ Starting with Weatherization in 1974 programs have expanded to include Single Family Housing Rehabilitation, Home buyer Assistance, Home Inspections and Energy Audits, Multi-Family Rental, and most recently Transitional.

¨ Staff can help communities, cities, villages, counties, not-for profit agencies and others and apply for and operate housing programs. The amount of help may vary from referrals to “turnkey solutions.” This solution could include a complete application packet with submission to a funding agency, post application materials, taking and processing client applications, estimating work needed on a home, developing bid packages and securing bids, inspecting works performed on a home, on program close out documents.

¨ Call the local office to discuss your housing problem. A questionnaire is completed over the phone or in person to help find the areas with which we can assist. Western Egyptian may be able to help you with one of several agency programs, or we may refer you to other sources of assistance within the agency’s housing network system.

¨ The inspection and the audit are professional examinations performed by an experienced inspector. The inspections and audits are done for individuals, lenders, Federal and State agencies, Realtors and any other groups where the service is needed. There is a fee for this service, however, it is set on a sliding scale so that they are affordable for everyone.
